After studying VCE Art at Moorabbin Tafe. Andrew started his apprenticeship in Wood Machining back in the 80's. In 1990 Andrew left Furniture-Making to work at a large picture framing company there he learnt the fine art of picture framing which included a Pro Hart painting. This experience helped sharpen his eye for detail. But his passion was furniture so he went back to Dewhurst Furniture and continued his training. In 1994 Andrew travelled to Midwest America to learn more about his passion of Shaker and Early American Furniture. Andrew took over the company in 1998. Andrew is a fourth generation Furniture Maker. Andrew's father showed him the trade as his father showed him.

Joining Dewhurst Furniture as a second year apprentice Danny soon progressed to finish his apprenticeship early as well as winning the Beazley Award at RMIT University (the award for the most outstanding apprentice across all trades). Following that Danny took a short break from Dewhurst Furniture to work in France. During this time he trained at Fabrique de Meubles Coulombs in Coulomb working on the Phillip Huerel collection. Shortly after returning to Dewhurst Furniture Danny became a director and is now at your disposal.
